Abstract
With the advent of “Aging” and “Lower Birth Rate” in the world, Taiwan will become a “Super-Aged society” in 2025, which means that the lives of young adult will be heavier as it brings economic deterioration in the society and even threatens both physical and mental health of the elderly and their children (or caregivers). Although Taiwan government has proposed a long-term care program about the disabled, the dementia and the mobility-impaired for middle-aged and elderly people, there are still over 70% of the elderly who cannot be included in the program, in which nearly 50% of the elderly are currently confronted with severe problems for settling down in Taiwan.Based on issues mentioned above, this study not only investigates Aged care issues through cases of Home-based Aged Care, but also aims to establish a set of innovative products and business models for Smart Home Care, and to develop an economical, healthy and safe living model for the elderly.By PESTLE Analysis, Value Proposition Canvas, Porter Five Forces, it is multi-dimensional to identify market demands and opportunities, and develop blueprint along with business models for the Aged care industry. Further, the operation and Financial Models simulation of small-size marketing is used as the feasibility assessment of the business model. Finally, face-to-face interviews were conducted with two smart medical experts on the entire product design concept and business strategy in order to explore whether there are blind spots in the product design concept and commercial promotion concept of the Smart Home Care System in the study.Research analysis and Financial Models simulation results show that the concept of Smart Home Care System meets the expectations of individuals and the Aging society, and also meets the demands of the care industry in the next 5 to 10 years. The technical is also consistent with the global technological development trend with development potential. Under the operating Financial Models of small-size marketing of this business model, the trend curve is positive growth. Therefore, the “B2C” business model of this Smart Home Care System is predicted to meet the expectations of the elderly for “home” in the future; while the expenditure of the “Subscription Model” can best meet the affordability of the elderly and their families. The findings provided insights into the Smart Home Care System, which is a comprehensive care service ecosystem that allows the elderly to immerse themselves in multiple care and life assistance services, and is expected to bring benefits to the operation.
