    Mobile-device-supported strategy for Chinese reading comprehension

    The work described in this paper explores the feasibility of using of a wireless handheld system (WHS) that supports the individual and co-operative reading activities of students and helps teachers implement reading strategy instruction in Chinese language classes. The experimental findings demonstrate that the WHS benefits students applying reading strategies and improves co-operative learning in relation to small reading groups.

    The purpose of this research was to develop a wireless handheld system for supporting individual and cooperative reading activities in Chinese language arts class. The findings show that the wireless handheld system benefited students’ applying ability of reading strategies and also improved their cooperative learning in a small reading group.

    The purpose of this research was to develop a wireless handheld system for supporting individual and cooperative reading activities in Chinese reading comprehension. The findings showed that the integration of learning scenarios with the proposed wireless handheld system could improve students' Chinese reading comprehension proficiency.
